Madeline Spiess November 9, 1922 ~ January 16, 2025 (age 102) 102 Years Old
Madeline Spiess Obituary Madeline Spiess, 102, of Carol Stream, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Johnson Healthcare Center in Carol Stream. She was born November 9, 1922, in Yugoslavia, the daughter of Josef and Maria (Rack) Teppert. .As a young woman, Madeline had a difficult life. After WWII, Madeline’s family was forced out of the family home. Her father and eldest brother were executed and Madeline was sent to a Russian Labor camp where she was forced to load coal onto rail cars for five years. It was her faith in the Lord that enabled her to endure. After being released, she made her way to the United States where she married her husband, Francis, in July of 1962. They settled in Illinois and had a successful and happy life together until Francis’ passing on the same date in 2007. She lived the remainder of her life being surrounded by loving family and friends. Madeline is survived by her brother Jacob Teppert; nephews Frank & Joseph Klingler & family; Robert Lubke; Robert & Ronald Teppert; nieces Patricia Lubke; Rose Atkinson & family; Rita & Richard Bebar and family; Mary & Michael Meyer and family; Anna & John Woodford and family; Monika Strauss and family; Ingrid Blenk and family; Ursula Teppert and family. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis Spiess, parents, brothers Adolph & Franz Teppert and sister Theresa Klingler.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva with a rosary recital at 7:45 pm.  Funeral prayers will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 10:00 am at Malone Funeral Home, proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva, for a Celebration of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am with Father Ryan Browning as Celebrant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=accg9EoeI2c Burial will follow at West Batavia Cemetery in Batavia.
