Mary G. Chetwood Obituary Mary G. Chetwood, age 90, of Naperville, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, at The Springs at Monarch Landings in Naperville surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 21, 1933, in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Hickman) Grissom. She was amazing, always up for anything, a loving heart and an unwavering faith through the trials of life, a true prayer warrior, the most wonderful listener and curious about everything. Mary is survived by her children James (Lisa) Breck Smiley of Oswego and Kyndell Chetwood of West Chicago; grandchildren James (Susie), Joseph (Jillian) and Jessica (Cody); 8 great grandchildren; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Fransess Grissom, sisters Joanne and Tassis Grissom, first husband Jimmy Smiley and second husband Charles Chetwood. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 4:00pm until the time of her memorial service at 6:00pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.
