Melvin L. Peterson
February 26, 1921 - April 2, 2021 Melvin L. Peterson, 100, died peacefully on April 2, 2021 at his residence in River Glen Assisted Living in St. Charles. The son of Roy and Ellen Peterson, Melvin was born on February 26, 1921 in St. Charles, IL. Melvin was raised in St. Charles and attended St. Charles schools. On August 3, 1946, he married Ruth A. Anderson at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Charles. Survived by his son Tom (Diane), two grandchildren – Erik (Laura) Peterson, and Carin (Brad) Masel, two great-grandchildren – Ashe Masel and Ellinor Peterson, and a niece, nephews and sister-in-law. A lifetime of work and service included: lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Baker Community Center Board for 70 years, St. Charles History Museum, Wasco Sanitary District, and owner of Wasco Blacksmith Shop for 40 years. He and Ruth also loved their RV trips all over the country with friends and family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a future date.
