Neuza M. Stricker
August 24, 1929 - December 26, 2025 Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of Neuza Stricker, 96, of Batavia who died peacefully on December 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of Rodolfo and Brigida Croner, Neuza was born on August 24, 1929 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She worked at General Electric as a young woman and there she met the love of her life, Jerry Stricker. They married in 1961, moved to New York, and started a family. They had three sons, Mark, Edson, and Matthew, and went on many adventures together. Their travels took them from their marriage in West Virginia to New York and Connecticut during the early years. They moved to Dundalk, Ireland after that where they made lifelong friends. After returning to the US and living in Memphis, they moved to Singapore for three years, traveling throughout Southeast Asia and seeing the world. Later they settled in Lisle, Illinois where the kids finished high school and went to college. After retirement, they moved to Batavia, where they enjoyed making many happy memories with their grandchildren. Neuza lived a full and beautiful life—one marked by joy, laughter, and a deep, steady love that wrapped itself around everyone she called family. As a mother and mother-in-law, she gave of herself generously, not just in the big moments, but in the countless quiet ways that made life feel safe, welcoming, and full. Her home was a place of comfort. Love flowed naturally from her—through her kindness, her humor, her wisdom, and her unwavering devotion to those she loved. The legacy she leaves behind is not only in memories, but in the values she modeled: love, grace, strength, and gratitude. She welcomed the friends of her kids into her home and heart. Her house was always full. Survivors include sons Mark (Susie), Ed (Julie), and Matt (Cindy); seven grandchildren – Jake (Sarah), Luke, Megan, Nick (Isela), Ben, Connor, and JP, and one great grandchild, Theodore, as well as dear nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband and true love, Jerry Stricker, and her four brothers; Carlos, Rafael, Edson and Rodolfo.
