December 16, 1944 - January 27, 2025

Patrick John McMahon of Saint Charles, Illinois December 16, 1944 – January 27, 2025 Patrick John McMahon, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, at the age of 80.  Born on December 16, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, Pat lived a life marked by adventure, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family. The son of John and Gertrude McMahon, Pat grew up in Chicago alongside his sister, Sheila McMahon.  A sharp and mischievous young man, he had a knack for finding innocent trouble, while keeping a steady head and a strong moral compass.  His quick wit and charm made him unforgettable, and his ability to make those around him laugh and feel at ease was a gift he carried throughout his life. Pat dedicated much of his career to law enforcement, serving with integrity and commitment to his community.  His years in the field earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues, friends, and those he served.  After his time in law enforcement, Pat ventured into business ownership, bringing the same work ethic, determination, and charisma to his entrepreneurial pursuits. Outside of work, Pat lived life to the fullest, embracing his passions with enthusiasm.  He loved his dog, Wrigley, the tranquility of fly-fishing, the thrill of traveling alongside his beloved wife, Jean, and the camaraderie of family and friends in Chicagoland and at his vacation home in Naples Florida.  A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, he was overjoyed to witness the “lifting of the curse” when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016. Above all, Pat’s greatest joy and most cherished role was that of a family man.  He shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with Jean (Dutzi), his best friend and the love of his life.  Together, they traveled the world and and built a beautiful family—Colleen Miczek (Nikolai), Michael McMahon (Zoe Reid), and Timothy McMahon (Jennifer Bruss).  Pat and Jean enjoyed many adventures with her brothers, Howard Dutzi (Ruth) and Robert Dutzi (Christine) and their nephew Robert Dutzi Jr (Laura) and niece, Elizabeth Dutzi Starzec (Jason).  Pat’s greatest pride was his grandchildren—Cora McMahon, Keenan McMahon, Jacob Miczek, Amelia Miczek, Grace McMahon, and Claire McMahon—who will carry on his legacy of love, loyalty, and adventure. Pat will be remembered for his strength, his Irish sense of humor, and his gracious heart.  A spirited man who lived life with passion, and who loved his wife tremendously.  His presence will be deeply missed, but the impact he had on those who knew him will never fade.  A Celebration of Life for Pat will be held this Spring. Rest in peace, Pat.  Your love, laughter, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know you.Guest BookShareEmailPrint
