Pedro A. Medina Obituary Pedro A. Medina, age 80, of Aurora, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 29, 1944, in Weslaco, Texas, the son of Antonio and Arcadia (Aguilar) Medina. Pedro was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.  As an adolescent and young man he was a farm worker.  He worked in the fields of Mexico, Texas, California and throughout the Southwest US along side his Father and siblings picking fruits and vegetables, then settling in California up until the early 70’s.  In 1971 he decided to visit his sister Romana in Batavia IL and never left the Fox Valley area.  He moved to Aurora IL, found a job at Burgess Norton Mfg Plant 2 in Geneva and worked there for 30 years, starting as a sinter operator and working his way up to being one of the lead setup man for the press department up until his retirement in 1999.  A couple years later he came out of retirement and worked as an independent contractor as a setup man for another 3+ years at BN.  He liked sports cars often reminscing of a 57’ Corvette and a 66’ Chevy he used to own.  His love and passion for Futbol “Soccer” was without question, playing well into his late 60’s and that passion he passed onto his son Jose. Besides soccer another one of his passions was Bowling. He played for several years in the local leagues having accumulated several trophies.  After retirement he was able to devote more time to his church being an active member of the Jehovah Witness Organization of which he was an Elder, preaching and teaching the word of God up until the end. Pedro is survived by his wife of 49 years Rosaura (Duron); children Jose Antonio (Lorena) of Yorkville and Zuleika (Justin) of Aurora; grandchildren Jose A Jr. and Maia Jade Arreola; and siblings; Romana (Jose) of Batavia, Cenaida of Modesto CA, Herminia (Antonio) of Riverside CA, Ignacio of Corona CA, Maria (Rigoberto) of Dona Tx, Lupe of Mexico; half siblings, Maria, Miguel, Rosa, Julio, Elba, Esther. He was preceded in death by his parents Antonio & Arcadia of Mexico; siblings Mariano (Salome), Maria (Lalo), Ernestina (Genaro), Sixta (Felipe), Clara (David) of Mexico, Lorenzo of Greenville TX, Leno (Vita) of Corona CA; half sibling Dionico of Mexico; grandaughter Bianca of Aurora. Visitation for Pedro will be held Monday, October 7, 2024 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.
