Peter A. Zuk
September 4, 1946 - February 14, 2021 Peter Andrew Zuk was a caring son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and an invaluable friend. He left this world unexpectedly on February 14, 2021 at the age of 74. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. In spite of being in constant pain, Peter came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. His passing has left a giant hole in the hearts of many. Peter was born to John and Irene (nee Kowalski) on September 4, 1946 which also happened to be his parents 9th wedding anniversary. Peter met the love of his life, Georgine Baran, at the Hillside Theatre, where they both worked. They were only 16 when they met, became friends and gradually realized that they were soulmates. Peter was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force (1965 – 1969). He retired from the Commonwealth Edison/Exelon Corp. in 2001. Peter has always been ahead of his time. At family gatherings he would always don his VHS camcorder, intent on immortalizing events such as Christmas 1979, Lake of the Ozarks 1985 and Andy’s 21st and Joey’s 18th birthdays in 1994, several weddings and multiple family celebrations. His love of music was expressed in the countless mixtapes he made. His “INFINITE SOUNDS” productions were compilations of songs “telling stories” of emotion, quiet reflection or a rousing “It’s Party Time.” He often included “their song” Piano and Strings. Whenever it played, Peter and Georgine both immediately stopped whatever they were doing and lovingly “slow danced” together. Peter was predeceased by his parents John & Irene & his brother & sister-in-law Johnny & Bev (nee Appa) and by his father-in-law George Baran & brother-in-law Dennis Baran. Peter is survived by his beautiful wife of 54 years, Georgine. He was the proud father of two sons: Andrew Dennis (Gisella Foto) and Joseph Peter (Kathi nee Osinski), as well as a loving grandfather to Finn Michael and the favorite son-in-law of Jeanne (nee Szafraniec) Baran. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Peter’s honor to: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Mayo Clinic (cancer research). Guest Book ShareEmail Print |
