Richard D Nowak
January 23, 1969 - September 22, 2025 Richard Daniel Nowak, 56, of St. Charles, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly at home on September 22, 2025. Born in Chicago on January 23, 1969, Rick was the beloved son of Mary Jane and the late Richard Nowak. He grew up with a deep appreciation for the outdoors, sports, and the simple joys of life—interests he carried with him throughout the years and shared with those closest to him. On October 23, 1999, Rick married Bridget, his best friend and the love of his life. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. He was a devoted and deeply proud father to his children, Jacob (23) and Mia (17), who were the center of his world. Rick was the owner of his own business and a man of many passions. He loved fly fishing in quiet streams, hunting in the early morning hours, playing hockey and softball with friends, and sitting down for a good game of chess. A lifelong fan of Notre Dame, the Chicago Bears, Blackhawks and Cubs, Rick was loyal to his hometown teams through every high and low. He proudly served in the National Guard, carrying with him a strong sense of duty, discipline, and commitment that shaped the way he lived his life. Above all, Rick loved his family. He was a husband who adored his wife, a father who cherished his children, and a brother who always showed up with strength and humor. He is survived by his wife Bridget, his children Jacob and Mia, his loyal dog Maggie, his mother Mary Jane, his sisters Robi (Randy), De, and Lory, mother-in-law Violet, sister-in-law’s Janet (Brian), Kim (Will) in addition to many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Rick will be remembered for his quiet strength, his generous heart, and the deep love he held for his family and friends. His presence in our lives was a gift, and his absence leaves an ache that words cannot fully express. Services will be held at Yurs Funeral Home in downtown St Charles on Sunday, September 28th from 2p-6pm and a funeral mass at St. Patrick Church on Monday September 29th at 10:30 am.Guest BookShareEmailPrint |
