Richard P. "Rich" Huber

Obituary Richard P. “Rich” Huber, age 56, of Geneva, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born October 16, 1965, in Geneva, the son of William and Trudy (Waltraud) Huber. Rich, a father everyone wanted, lived in Geneva, IL his entire life. He attended SIU where he met his devoted wife, Tammy. After graduating from NIU with a bachelor’s degree in computer programming, Rich then worked as a programmer for a financial institution.  Even at home, he always had a new task to be completed, to surprise or please his family.  He was always looking for his next adventure and even received his pilot’s license. Rich was always creating; pizzas with his pizza oven he built himself, his phenomenal soups, baking, and even renovating his house. He was truly a jack of all trades. While he battled cancer for over 22 years, he never let it stop him. He always had his love for his family and others, while having a unique sense of humor that could bring a smile to anyone’s face. He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years Tammy (Sproull); children Matthew (Lolita) of Ottawa, Sabrina, Kelly, and Adam all of Geneva; mother Trudy of Geneva; siblings Karl (Lyn) of Wisconsin, Bill of Rock Falls, Tom of Wheaton, and Sharon of Cary; and many other dear relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. A Funeral Service for Rich will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 11:00 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva with Father Jonathan Bakkelund officiating. Burial will be held privately. Visitation will be held Monday, March 21 from 3:00 – 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home.
