Robert Hugh Bruce

Robert Hugh Bruce May 3, 1956 ~ July 7, 2026 (age 70) 70 Years Old
Robert Hugh Bruce Obituary Robert Hugh Bruce, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, July 7th, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories with his family and friends. Famously once said by Walt Disney, “Too many people grow up”. It was a sentiment that Bob carried with him throughout his entire life. He may have grown older over the years, his hair may have gone gray, his smile lines may have permanently etched onto his cheeks, and his voice may have gotten softer, but he never grew up. At heart, he was a child still. Bob believed whole heartedly in keeping the magic of childhood alive. He knew that an affliction such as growing up could suffocate the soul, and he dedicated his life to protecting his loved ones from suffering such a fate. From strangers in passing to his closest friends and family, Bob was a break from the burdens of reality. His positive outlook on life was infectious, and one couldn’t help but smile when he was near.  Bob was never known to be a complicated man, rather he most often took satisfaction out of finding joy in the simple things in life. He made even the most mundane, ordinary days special, and those are now days looked back on by his loved ones in fond memory. Bob was proud to be the head of the family he built with the love of his life, his wife, Sharon. He was happiest in the company of his family, whether it was the chatter over a meal, or the thrills at one of the Disney parks, nothing compared. Bob was born on May 3rd, 1956, in Aurora, Illinois, to Robert and Evelyn Reed-Young Bruce (Ramage).  He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Bruce; his children, Mike Bruce, Rob Bruce, and Jennifer Wagner; his grandchildren, Daniel Pace, Faith Wagner, Max Bruce, Kayla Bruce, Jarren Clemens, Jelayne Clemens, Vincent Bruce, and Jacob Bruce; his brother, Hugh (Colleen) Bruce; his sisters, Flora Rittenhouse and Ruth (Jim) Erickson; along with many extended family members and dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Evelyn Reed-Young Bruce (Ramage).  A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, from 4:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E State Street, Geneva. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 7:00p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the cancer association or cancer charity of the donor’s choice in Bob’s memory.  Arrangements handled by Malone Funeral Home in Geneva.
