January 12, 1938 - February 9, 2022

Shirley A. Mueller 02/11/2022 Shirley Anne Mueller was born on January 12, 1938, in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. Her mother, Anne Whiffen, nee Collins, loved her very much and was a warm and caring mom in every way. She taught her the value of patience, respect and to love God. Her father, James Whiffen, was no less devoted to her. From him, she learned about hard work and loyalty to family and country. They gave her faith in the Lord, which comforted her to the very end. She was the sixth of seven sisters and one brother to rejoin their family in heaven, survived by her sister, Carmel Hammond. The large family was very close throughout their lives, especially after the early loss of their father, sharing life’s journey and adventures. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul E. Mueller, Sr. and together, they enjoyed nearly fifty years of marriage. Paul was kind, loving and soft-spoken; he was quick to listen and slow to anger. Their love and mutual respect set a fine example for their children. Surviving her are her three children, Jennifer Ann, Paul Emiel Jr. and Jeffrey Steven. All are leading independent, successful lives in good health thanks to the bedrock foundation provided by Mom and Dad. Her children and grandchildren, Claire Mary, Brendan Thomas and Elise Anne have made her immensely proud and filled her life with joy. Her children’s’ dedication to their families reflects an example set every day by their parents. They deal with grief differently, and each should manage it as they see fit. She hopes, however, that they grieve her passing only as long as necessary. They have much good work to do and love to give, and they should get busy doing it. Time is flying by. Paul’s wife, Michelle, also survives her. Shirley loved Michelle, who was dear to her as well. Her numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and their families, and many devoted friends also survive Shirley. She loved them all, and she knows they loved her. She was a blessed woman in every way. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at Yurs Funeral Home Geneva, Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at St. Patrick Crane Road Church 6N491 Crane Road St. Charles. Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Il. For further information please call Yurs Funeral Home Geneva. 630-232-7337Guest BookShareEmailPrint
