Steven K. Schmitt

Steven K. Schmitt passed away on February 13, 2021 in St. Charles from complications of Young Onset Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on July 18, 1949 in Park Forest, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Shelley Lapp on November 16, 1985 in Wheaton. 

Steve was an avid Bears, White Sox, Blackhawks and Kane County Cougars fan and enjoyed attending the games whenever possible. His favorite hobby was fishing and he spent many happy hours in his favorite spots both in the US and Canada. He also loved to play golf and traveled often with his wife. 

Steve leaves behind his wife Shelley Schmitt, his children; Bart (Kim) Carbonneau, Leah (David) Sheridan, Tiffany Carbonneau (Brian). His siblings, sisters Jackie Menzel and Sue Schmitt and his brother Bob (Diana). His grandchildren are Elijah, Keira, Jackson, Logan and June. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Beau Carbonneau.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday February 21, 2021 from 1PM – 3PM at Moss Family Funeral Home in Batavia. An Invitation Only Memorial Service will be held promptly at 3PM also at Moss Family Funeral Home.
