Thomas J. Gohr
March 18, 1963 - February 10, 2019 Thomas Joseph Gohr, died at 55 years of age from pancreatic cancer on February 10, 2019, peacefully at his home in North Aurora, Illinois. Tom was the son of Richard K. Gohr (deceased) and Anna Mae Gohr (deceased). Tom is survived by his brother Richard (Katie) and their sons Joseph and Jeffrey; his brother Michael (Jo Ellen) and their sons Paul (Becky) and their 3 children (Ella, Anna, Valerie); David (Tracey); and Roy (deceased); his brother Martin (Lorraine) and their children Tony (Ariel) and Chloe (Ron). Tom is survived by longtime dear friends Keith Millard and Vicki Martin Janusz in addition to many dear cousins and many, many friends, as Tom made friendships with all he came in contact with. Tom was born in St. Louis, MO, where he lived until his family moved to Edina, MN. As a sophomore in high school, Tom’s family moved to St. Charles, IL, where he remained connected throughout the rest of his life. Tom was a graduate of St. Charles High School and Miami University (Oxford, OH), where he studied accountancy. Tom later earned the C.P.A Certificate and was a licensed in Illinois. Tom work for Arthur Andersen, KPMG LLP, US Cellular, Fannie Mae Mortgage Corporation (FNMA), Merrill Corporation and Arthur J Gallagher. During his career, Tom lived in the Chicago Metro Area, Washington D.C and St. Paul, MN. As an adult, Tom had the wonderful opportunity and gift of caring for his parents and felt very blessed to have spent many meaningful years with his them. Tom was always grateful for the time he spent with his brothers, his sisters-in-law and his nephews and niece, his cousins and his lifelong friends. Tom was member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in St. Charles, IL, for over 40 years where he developed a strong faith in his Lord, Jesus Christ. Although Tom really enjoyed playing football, hockey, snow skiing, golf, weight lifting and walking, his fondest memories were of fishing with his dad and his brothers during several fly-in fishing trips to Ontario, Canada. Being a people person, Tom created amazing memories with family and friends. Throughout his fight with cancer, Tom was so grateful for all the love, prayers and support he received from his family and friends. Tom loved living life and will dearly miss those who meant so very much to him. A wake for Tom will be held at Yurs Funeral Home in St. Charles on Friday, February 15, 2019, from 4-8 P.M., Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in St. Charles. He will be interred at Union Cemetery in St. Charles in a private family service.
