April 23, 1933 - December 26, 2021

Victoria Anne Banghart (nee Sawdon), 88, died in Arlington Heights, IL on December 26th, 2021. Born April 23, 1933, in Bronxville, NY to Victor and Ethel Sawdon.  On October 26, 1957 she married Thomas (Sky) Schuyler Banghart in Bronxville ,NY.  She raised her family in Pittsburgh, PA, and later in Elm Grove, WI.  She and Sky retired to Elkhart Lake, WI where they spent many happy years. Vicki grew up in Bronxville, New York.  She graduated from Colby Sawyer College in New Hampshire in 1953.  Always an active volunteer in her community including the Junior League of both Pittsburgh and Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Catholic church. Under the Junior League Vicki was the coordinator of the International Visitor Program in Pittsburgh and a member of the Arts Commission in Milwaukee.   Vicki was the lead docent at the Milwaukee Art Museum for many years.  Among other volunteer activities Vicki taught religious education as a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Elm Grove, WI as well as at St Thomas Aquinas in Elkhart Lake. Above all, the job she loved the most was being the mother to her 5 children. Vicki will be remembered by her many friends for her sense of humor, love of entertaining and her strong faith in Jesus Christ. Survived by her children, Thomas (Suzanne) Banghart, Jr of Arlington Heights; Stuart Banghart of North Lake, WI; Tori (Brian) Hedges of St Charles, IL; Mary (Doug) Smith of Minburn, IA; and Andrew Banghart of Elkhart Lake, WI,  Grandchildren, Scott (Olivia) and Keith Hedges; Ali (Derek) Bodin, Parker Banghart, Emily, Krista and Maggie Smith; Rebecca and Theresa Banghart;  Great grandchildren, Sebastian, Eliza and Elaina Bodin, Eloise Hedges and her sister Janet Smith (nee Sawdon). Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Schuyler Banghart. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022, 10:30 A.M. at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 94 N Lincoln St, Elkhart Lake, WI 53020 with Father Phillip Reifenberg presiding. Burial will be at Saint Thomas Aquinas North Cemetery in Elkhart Lake with reception following in Elkhart Lake, WI to be announced.
