Virginia “Ginny” (Hill) Myers
December 16, 1942 - February 16, 2024 Virginia “Ginny” (Hill) Myers passed quietly in her sleep at the age of 81 on February 16, 2024, following complications from a brain hemorrhage suffered several years earlier. Ginny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She lived a life full of friends and family, loving to socialize, was a fabulous hostess and a great cook. She enjoyed gardening and a succession of wonderful canine companions, including Webster, Cassie, and Murphy, who misses her dearly. She always had a smile and a beautiful laugh, made friends wherever she went, and had a quick wit and terrific sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by many. Ginny was born to Mona and Denny Hill in Houston, Texas on December 16, 1942. She graduated from Springfield High School in Springfield, Illinois in 1960 and attended Illinois State University in Bloomington, Illinois. Ginny married the love of her life, F. “Dale” Myers, on July 3, 1965. They lived a full life together and raised three children: Lisa Johnson (Trey) of McCall, Idaho; Michael Myers (Kerri Hall) of Tinley Park, Illinois; and Jeffrey Myers (KC) of Ellijay, Georgia. Ginny was the proud grandmother of nine: Ryan Johnson (Taylor), Kelly Johnson, Brett Johnson, and Nick Johnson; Matthew Myers and Andrew Myers; Dahla Myers and Gavin Myers; and Mercer Buechner. Ginny was also delighted to be great-grandmother to Thomas Johnson in the last several years. An avid golfer and former member of the St. Charles Country Club, Ginny was also an active member of the Women’s Metropolitan Junior League and the Delnor Auxiliary. After raising her children, Ginny worked as an Executive Assistant at Liquid Container and later volunteered to help disabled children ride horses and to re-home dogs at a no- kill animal shelter. Following retirement, Dale and Ginny moved to Marietta, Georgia for 12 years to be closer to grandchildren, and then relocated back to the St. Charles area in 2022. A visitation service will be held at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, IL on Saturday, April 13th from 2:00 – 6:00 pmGuest BookShareEmailPrint |
