William Wadleigh Obituary William “Bill” Wadleigh, 72, of Geneva, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026 at Central Dupage Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 28, 1954 in Elgin, the son of Gerald and June (Haeberle) Wadleigh. Bill worked for many years as a trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and later as a USPS mail carrier until his retirement. He was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Blackhawks, and Chicago Cubs. Bill was a proud father who cherished spending time with his kids, watching his favorites like Doctor Who and Marvel movies, and listening to classic rock. Growing up, he loved fishing with his dad and swimming up in Lake Geneva at his family’s cabin. He made countless friends through his love of sports and often enjoyed an exciting day out at Arlington Park. Bill is survived by his children Jessica Wadleigh (Matt Parker) of Berwyn and Jerry Wadleigh of Geneva; sister Judy (Rich) Flores of Batavia; mother of his children Becky Weaver; beloved family dog Buttercup; and many other dear relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 3:00 until 7:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Rt 38) in Geneva. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be put toward a bench in his honor at one of his favorite local parks.
