Alice J. Pickett

Alice J. Pickett (Fogel), 100, of DeKalb, Il. passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022, peacefully at Pine Acres in DeKalb, IL.  Alice was born on 3/25/1921 in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Bethel (nee. Pepperman) Fogel.  She was united in marriage to James Pickett on January 13, 1943. 

Alice enjoyed watching game shows and cheering on her Chicago Bears. She spent time playing cards, doing crossword puzzle and caring for her plants. She loved spending quality time with her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all.

Alice Pickett is survived by her daughter, Karyn Santiago, of DeKalb, IL; her brother, Richard Fogel, of Dekalb, IL; her two granddaughters, Julia Bork and Allison Ryan; her three grandsons, James (Kristi) Bork, Jason (Marcy) Ryan, Paul (Kate) Indouina; her six great grandchildren, Bradley (Rachel) Bork, Tyler Bork, Merri Bork, Taylor Ryan, Cody Ryan, Josh Ryan; her two great-great grandchildren, Taylor and Elizabeth Bork; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Bethel Fogel; her loving husband, James Pickett; her son, Brian Pickett; her grandson, Joel Bork; her three brothers, Wayne Fogel (Caroline), Lyle Fogel (Margaret), Paul Fogel (Virginia); and her sister-in-law, Lois Fogel.

A private committal service was held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at River Hills Memorial Park, in Batavia, IL.
