Anne M. Aister

Anne M. Aister, 95, of North Aurora passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at her home.  She was born September 1, 1926, in Aurora, IL the daughter of Valentine and Catherine (Schaefer) Alway.  She was united in marriage to John F. Aister March 2, 1946, in Aurora, IL. 

Anne was an adored and loving mother who enjoyed caring for her home especially cooking and gardening. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and her adored grandchildren. She was an excellent seamstress who did work professionally as a seamstress for many years. She also was employed for a time at the Oberweis Ice Cream Parlor and Grimms Drug Store. 

Anne is survived by her children, Gayle A. (Bob) Becker, John G. (Marlene) Aister, Dr. Kevin J. (Nicole) Aister, Kimberly E. (Hank) Hunter, Lisa K. (Dr. Jeffrey) Postlewaite; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; a sister Beatrice Hight, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John F. Aister and her siblings, Catherine Shadis, Mary Roth and Valentine Alway, Jr.

Memorial visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 801 Oak St., North Aurora, IL 60542.  Mass will be held at 11 AM following visitation also at the church.   Interment will be held at Marywood Cemetery in Aurora, IL after mass.
