Anthony L. Chiarugi
April 30, 1931 - February 26, 2022 Anthony L. Chiarugi, 90, of St. Charles passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at his home. He was born April 30, 1931, in Chicago, IL the son of Olinto and Lillian (Bernero) Chiarugi. Anthony met the love of his life after he served in the war. After many dates in his green Oldsmobile convertible, he proposed. He was united in marriage to Anna Marie Pantera November 6, 1954, in Evanston, IL. They would build their life together on their property in Bartlett, IL. Anthony was the proud father to three sons. He would go on to coach many baseball teams and attend numerous sporting events in support of his boys. Anthony was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps who served in the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a mechanical engineer and supervisor for ITW-Shakeproof and ITW-Fastex for 34 years before his retirement in 1986. After retirement, Anthony enjoyed his time traveling with Anna Marie, playing cards with friends, and many rounds of golf. He also enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren’s sporting events, recitals, and activities. Anthony loved a good party with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Anna Marie; three sons Jeffrey (Deborah) Chiarugi, Edward (Gayle) Chiarugi and Donald (Nancy) Chiarugi; six grandchildren, Keith (Ivonne), Lynda (Jonathon), Nicholas (Holly), Adam (Raven), Thomas and Kristin (Chas); five great grandchildren, Amalia, Eva, Joseph, Camila, and Jonah; his sister Corinne Shanahan of Fairhope, Alabama and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Moss-Norris Funeral Home 100 South Third Street St. Charles, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Prairie Cemetery in St. Charles.
