Barbara Lee Carlson

Barbara Lee Carlson, 88, of Batavia passed away Monday, December 12, 2022, at River Crossing of St. Charles.  She was born September 7, 1934, in Aurora, IL the daughter of Austin Chloren and Alta (Cunefare) Vanatta.  She was united in marriage to Marvin D. Carlson September 8, 1962, in Batavia, IL.

 Barbara was employed by the Batavia School District where she served for many years in cafeteria food service.  She was a devoted Christian woman who enjoyed her fellowship and bible study at Willow Lake Community in Elgin where she resided for several years. During retirement, travel and exploration was a love of Barbara’s and her husband’s.  She also enjoyed many summers relaxing at their family cabin located in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin.      

She is survived by her two daughters, Laurel (Dale) Hubbs, and Debra (Curtis) Barrett; and two granddaughters, Kayli Hubbs and Valerie Barrett.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by her two brothers, Lloyd and Lowell Vanatta.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 16, 2022, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL.  A memorial service will follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M. and then committal services and interment in River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia, IL.
