Betty M Chapman

Betty M. Chapman, age 93, of Batavia, Illinois passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 29, 2020.  Betty was born February 9, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Martha (nee. Mateko) Hence. 

Betty married Ivan Kirk and the couple raised seven beautiful children together.  Following Ivan’s death in 1983 Betty found love again and married Albert Chapman in 1988.  Betty and Albert made many memories together in the 13 years they had together before his death in 2001.

Betty is survived by six children, Terry Kirk (Lee), Sue (Dick) Heidelberg, Cheri Matthai, Kevin Kirk, Lisa Kirk, and Mike (Chris) Burke, sixteen grandchildren; Jayson Kirk, Judith Kirk, Josh Kirk, Nathan Kirk, Tim Kirk, Priscilla Kirk, David Kirk, Phillip Kirk, Julia Graddy, Tiffani Johannsen, Elizabeth Young, Shala Cripps, Sarah Ray, Chelsea Touchette, Joe Burke, and Packey Burke, and numerous great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her stepmother Helen Owens. 

Betty is preceded in death by her husbands, Ivan Kirk and Albert Chapman, her parents, and her eldest son, James Kirk. 

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Seasons Hospice, 2195 W. Diehl Road, Naperville, Il 60563 in Betty’s memory.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
