Bonita Alyce Rowlett

Bonita “Bonnie” Alyce Rowlett, 76, of Batavia, IL, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022, at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. She was born in Oak Park, IL, to the late John Thomas Higbee and Alyce Helen (Rollick) Higbee.

Bonita enjoyed gardening, especially flowers. She was also a loving mother and devoted grandmother and great grandmother who loved spending time with her grand and great grandchildren. She also had a special place in her heart for dogs, having had many as pets during her lifetime. 

She is survived by her son, Michael Rowlett; her three stepsons, Robert Rowlett, Gerald Rowlett, James Rowlett, and Bill Rowlett. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jessica (Jonathan) Ray, Kenny Smalley (Ariel Bryant), and Kristen (Richard) Krug; and her great grandchildren, Kylie and Kaitlyn Krug, Brooklyn Sansone, Brantley and Addisyn Batton, William and Benjamin Smalley, and Anna and Peter Ray.

In addition to her parents, Bonita is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene Rowlett.

A memorial service celebrating Bonita’s life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Moss Family Funeral Home at 209 S. Batavia Ave, Batavia, IL 60510, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 P.M.
