Constance Marie Hughes

Constance Marie Hughes, 72, of Elgin passed away January 20, 2022, following an automobile accident.  Constance was born January 7, 1950, in Joplin, MO the daughter of Robert and Margaret (nee Ford) Hughes, Sr.

Constance was an accomplished pianist who had earned her Master of Music. She had a love and passion for music. She loved to share her passion with others, especially her students. In 1978, she started her career on the faculty of Harper College until 1985. She then took her career to Elgin Community College where she has been on staff for the past 26 years. Constance has shared her talents her faith and love for music with thousands of people throughout her life as she has served as a pianist for St. Patrick Parish in St. Charles and for Saint Catherine of Sienna Church in West Dundee. She loved her family, her students, all music and to travel. She will be dearly missed by all who have known her.

She is survived by her three children, Karl (Jackie) Itter, Paul Itter, and Brendan Itter; two grandchildren, Mackayla and Connor Itter; her siblings, Robert (Sheri) Hughes, Linda (Jim) Juarez, Ellen Brodeur, James (Cathy) Hughes and many nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Timothy “Slim” Hughes.

Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Moss-Norris Funeral Home 100 South Third Street St. Charles, IL.

Funeral services will be held begin with prayers 9:30 A.M. Friday, January 28, 2022, before going in procession to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 6N487 Crane Road St. Charles, IL to celebrate Mass at 10:30 A.M.
