Cora Mae Newman
 February 26, 1941 - March 20, 2021 Cora Mae Newman, 80, passed away on March 20, 2021 in Aurora, IL. She was born in Marion, IL on February 26, 1941 to James Walter and Nora Florence (nee Bradley) Overstreet. She was united in marriage on March 15, 1959 in St. Charles, IL to James F. Newman. Cora will be remembered for finding joy in life and her unique laugh. She was a caring, loving, and social person, ready to help anybody who was willing to accept. Cora had a strong faith, always being the example of belief in prayer. She was a peacemaker in her home and community. If anyone ever needed a maternal figure, Cora was ready to accept them. Her crochet skills were unrivaled, fashioning everything from small items to large afghans. If you needed to find Cora, all you needed to do was follow the yarn. She leaves behind her children, Philip (Janice) Newman, Sandra (Michael) Armitage, Melba (Michael) Johnson, and Beverly Newman; her grandchildren Sarah (Brad) Hartman, Rebecca Armitage, Michelle Johnson, Amanda Armitage, and Abbygale Newman, and her great-grandchild; Harrison Hartman. In addition, she leaves her siblings Daisy Dunning and James (Dolores) Overstreet; her in-laws Peggy Newman, Ivie Vaughn, Glen (Sharon) Newman, Edith Overstreet and Gladys Overstreet. She also claimed Sheryl Nottingham and Jamie Broglin as part of her “bunch”. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James (Bootney), and her brothers Wayne Overstreet and John Overstreet. Visitation will be held on Thursday March 25, 2021 at Moss Family Funeral Home St. Charles 100 S. 3rd St. from 4PM – 8PM. A funeral Service will be held on Friday March 26, 2021 at 11AM.
