Daniel James O’Brien, age 87, of Aurora, passed away at his home Friday, March 25, 2022, surrounded by family. He was a 1951 graduate of Main West High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an agent for Allstate Insurance Company for 36 years, retiring in 2000.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Alice (Griffin) O’Brien, and three brothers, William, Jack, and Donald. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Christine O’Brien (Rogers); son Daniel and his wife Karen, daughter Kellie, son Sean; stepdaughters Katherine Eble and Laura Fruhauff; granddaughter Grace O’Brien and grandsons Daniel and Aiden O’Brien and Declan O’Sullivan. Dan enjoyed traveling, antiquing, and loved animals.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, 1820 Church Road, Aurora, IL Burial will take place immediately after service at Marywood Cemetery.
