Dolores Catherine Palshis

Dolores Catherine Palshis, 93 of Yorkville, IL passed away Thursday March 12, 2020. She was born April 23, 1926 in Cicero, IL. The daughter of Joseph and Frances (nee Rogacki). Her father Joseph passed away when Dolores was 2 years old. Her mother Frances married Charles F. Flanigan. Dolores adopted the name of her stepfather Charles F. Flanigan and became Dolores C. Flanigan throughout childhood into adulthood. She married William Paul Palshis on August 2, 1947. They were married for 21 years before being divorced.

She lived in Illinois, Texas and Michigan before retiring to Illinois. Her work careers included continuing education which she used to work in general office duties, bookkeeping, accounting and general retail positions. In Illinois she worked at Commonwealth Edison Company – Chicago; Uarco Incorporated – Barrington; The Milk Pail Restaurant – Elgin and Transunion – Libertyville. She worked at St. Marks Methodist Church in Houston, TX. She relocated to Muskegon, MI and worked for Sears Roebuck & Company there. She retired and moved to IL into assisted living at Heritage Woods in Yorkville, IL.

She loved music and in particular dancing to it throughout her life. She also loved to travel and enjoyed many road trips and vacations to numerous locations throughout the country.

She is survived by a son Paul Lawson and a daughter Bonnie Palshis. Also survived by Grandchildren Christine, Laura, Nick, Jillian, Lisa and Eric. Dolores has 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph, Charles and Frances. She was also preceded in death by former husband William, Son Michael, Daughter Charlene and Granddaughter Melissa.

A private funeral Mass will be conducted at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2300 Main St., Batavia, IL on Friday March 27, 2020.

A private burial will be Saturday March 28, 2020.

With following the guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19 funeral services are being limited to ten (10) or less people, there will not be any public service.
