Donald E. Moutray
February 3, 1924 - April 14, 2022 Donald “Don” Edward Moutray, 98, of North Aurora, IL., passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022, surrounded by his family at his home in North Aurora, IL. Donald was born on February 3, 1924, in Sugar Grove, IL., the son of Ralph and Anna Moutray. He was united in marriage to Jennie Jane Cyko, on February 12, 1944, Riverside, CA. Donald honorably served in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific from 1943 until 1946. After the war he owned and operated three service stations Don’s DX, Don’s Pure Oil and Don’s Union 76 in North Aurora, IL from 1953 until 1981, where he mentored many young teens. Later he operated Moutray’s BP Amoco in Sugar Grove from 1981 until 1989. He volunteered with the North Aurora Fire Department serving as Assistant Chief from 1958 until 1982. He worked with the Village of North Aurora as a crossing guard for the Goodwin School from 2002 until 2012. Donald is survived by his four children, Diana (Bob) Smith, Donna (Ken) Ala, Dennis (Pam) Moutray, and Debbie (Mike) Glock; eight grandchildren, Stacy (Randy) Voss, Ken (Jessica) Ala, Brian (Jenny) Ala, Mike (Melissa) Glock, Kevin (Christina) Glock, Michelle (Aaron) Danielak, Kristin (Erik) Jensen and Eric (Katie) Moutray; his twenty great grandchildren; his two great-great grandchildren; and a special thank you to his caretakers, Mark and Ami Alvis and Family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Jennie J. Moutray; his five sisters, Marcella Herren, Eleanor Dannewitz, Marion Gould, Geraldine Darabon, and infant Betty Moutray; his brother, Ralph Moutray. All services will be held privately.
