Douglas M. Swift

Douglas M. Swift, 58, a lifelong resident of Batavia passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021, at his home.  He was born January 22, 1963, in Batavia, IL the son of Kenneth and Ruth (Voss) Swift.

Doug graduated from Mades-Johnstone Center in St. Charles.  Doug was employed by Valley Shelter Workshop, then Marmion Academy, before taking employment at Jewel in Batavia where he worked as a bagger for many years.  Doug had a wonderful personality and was well loved and remembered by many from his time at Jewel.  He was an active member at Lord of Life Church in Elburn where he served as a greeter.  Doug was also a special Olympian at both the state and National level.    

Douglas is survived by his one sister Christine Adamec and a brother Steve (Irene) Swift; a niece Carlene (Ryan Hillegass) Swift and a nephew Kevin Swift. 

He is preceded in death by his parents.  

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday July 12, 2021, at Moss Family Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL.  Visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service.  Interment will follow in River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia, IL.
