Edith Helen Goesle, 96, of a resident of the Holmstad Retirement Community in Batavia, and a longtime resident of St. Charles passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Michaelson Health Care in Batavia. She was born April 16, 1926, in Long Island, NY, the daughter of William and Anna (Pokorny) Mikulas. She was united in marriage to John Whiting Goesle November 21, 1953, in Staten Island, NY.
She was a graduate of Port Richmond High School in Staten Island, NY and Hunter College in New YorkCity, NY. She worked at Haines Jr. High School and Little Woods Elementary School in St. Charles, IL as a librarian and teacher’s aide. She was a very long-time member of Baker Memorial United MethodistChurch in St. Charles, IL, teaching Second Grade Sunday School and later organizing the fifty-uppersevents. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother to many in Richmond Grade School in St. Charles, IL. After raising four children she attended many Elder Hostels with her husband John and loved vacationing inDoor County, WI. After moving to The Holmstad in Batavia, IL in 2005 she continued volunteering her time as an event organizer.
She is survived by her three children; Warren Goesle, Wendy (Ned) Corron, and Jean Goesle; three grandchildren, Ivy Corron, Madeline Corron and Nathan Palackdharry.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John Goesle; a son William Goesle and her sister Anne Dorothy Sharp.
Visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Moss-Norris Funeral Home, 100 South Third Street St. Charles, IL. A funeral service will be held 12:00 P.M. following the visitation. A graveside committal will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Union Cemetery in St. Charles.
