Elizabeth “Liz” Mann Wiggins, 63, of St. Charles, passed away on June 25, 2021, after a four-week battle with lymphoma. She was born in Elgin, IL, to the late Russel and Nancy (Brinkman) Mann.
Liz is survived by her daughter, Margaret “Maggie” Wiggins of St. Charles, IL; her beloved dogs, Charlie and Layla; her sister, Leslie Mann (Harrison Schneider) of St. Charles, IL; her nephew Jordan Smith of St. Charles, IL, and her nieces Hannah Smith of St. Charles and Courtney (David) Forestieri of Chicago, IL.
After earning a BA in Recreational Therapy from the University of Tennessee and an MS in Occupational Therapy from Rush University, Liz climbed the ladder in the gerontology field. Most recently, she was the executive director of the Elderday Center in Batavia, and then an outreach specialist for Lombard-based AgeGuide Northeastern Illinois. In addition to her jobs, many others in the field called Liz the go-to person for resources for the elderly, especially Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s patients.
Friends and co-workers describe Liz as a “loyal friend with a wicked sense of humor,” “hilarious and quirky,” “kind” and “generous” - many friends considered Liz their best friend.
