Ellie E Olsen

Ellie E. Olsen, 82, passed away peacefully after a brief illness Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Seasons Hospice Center in Naperville, Illinois. She was born November 30, 1939, in Chicago, the daughter of Floyd and Carmel (nee Dwyer) Olsen.

Ellie was a member of the Independent Accountants Association of Illinois and the Owner of Olsen’s Accounting and Tax Services in Batavia, where she spent the last 50 years fighting for the financial rights of her clients against the IRS. Ellie remained a faithful supporter of her community as a member of the Batavia Chamber of Commerce, Batavia Moose Lodge, Kane County Farm Bureau, and more.

Ellie was incredibly social and loved spending time at local restaurants surrounded by friends from all walks of life. As an avid sports fan, Ellie enjoyed heading to Downtown Chicago with friends to watch Cubs games and take in Bears games on TV at Sidecar Supper Club in Batavia. For years, Ellie would spend her well-deserved vacation time deep-sea fishing in Marathon Key, Florida. The Mahi she would bring back to share with her friends was beyond delicious.

Ellie was a beloved aunt, sister, advisor, companion, community member, supporter, and partner to so many friends and family.

She is survived by her sister CarolJoy (Peter) Madsen, her brother F. Howard (Sharon) Olsen, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister V. Martine Granger, her brother Larry F. Olsen, her sister Sylvia Bacigalupe and twin sisters, Beverly M. Sanderson and Carmel A. Lambert.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday January 21, 2022 from  9:00 A.M. till 10:00 A.M. with a service for friends and family honoring Ellie’s life at 10:00 A.M. at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL 60510.
