Ernest JR E. Kelley, Jr.

Ernest E. “JR” Kelley, Jr. passed away suddenly, Monday evening August 1, 2022.

There are no words to describe the loss that all his family, friends and especially his beloved wife are feeling.  JR leaves behind an enormous amount of fond memories.  The memories of how he always made people laugh and his love for music.  JR spent many years as a drummer for several local bands, the most recent of which was Cherokee.  JR along with his wife and stepson Matt owned and operated a karaoke business called Triple Dog Entertainment for several years.  JR never passed up an opportunity to sing a song or pick up his guitar.

While JR was never blessed with children of his own, he was proud to become a part of his wife's children's lives and he loved becoming a grandpa, gampa and a papa JR.

JR is survived by his wife of nearly fourteen years, Marcie; his mother Sandra; his stepchildren, April (Jim), Amanda (Tim), Andy (Diana), Matt (Ashley), Stacey, Kristi, and Adam; as well as eight grandchildren, several aunts, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. JR also leaves behind his best friend Smidge (Steve) and his 4 footed best friend Tanner.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Kelley, Sr. just 2 short months ago. His grandparents Robert (Alice) Kelley and Ronald (Doris) Ogle, as well as many aunts and uncles. 

There will be a service to celebrate his life and lift him up to the Lord at Wellspring United Methodist Church at 1217 Wolf Rd. Oswego, IL on Thursday August 11, 2022, at 2pm. Following the service, a social gathering at 3rd Ward Social Club, 612 5th Ave. in Aurora, IL will begin around 3:00 P.M.  Family and friends are encouraged to come and celebrate JR’s life, please come ready to share your favorite memories some of JR’s favorite foods will be provided.
