Fred Nolen

March 28, 1943 - September 24, 2021

Fred L. Nolen, 78, of St. Charles, IL passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, IL. He was born March 28, 1943, in Harrisburg, IL the son of Rev. Eugene Emerald and Lena Rivers (Powell) Nolen. He was united in marriage to June Cerett March 2, 1990, in St. Charles, IL.

Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Saying Fred loved cars was an understatement. He has kept every build sheet from all eighty-two new cars he has ever owned. He also had a wonderful, fun, and successful hobby of restoring classic muscle cars. Fred worked for 45 years at Caterpillar in Aurora until his retirement.

Fred is survived by his wife June; a daughter Gina Nolen of Flora, IL; three stepchildren, Karen (Mitchell) Sperling, Edward (Cody) Ash and Kathy (Mark) Schamberger; ten grandchildren, Christina, Jennifer, E.J., Nathan, Haley, Ashley, Kendra, Kathryn, Matthew, and Andrew; and eight great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 100 South Third Street St. Charles, IL. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 7:00 P.M.

Interment will be held in Salem Cemetery, Carrier Mills, IL.
