Gene R Melson

Gene Raymond Melson, age 78, of St. Charles IL passed Thursday September 1 st 2022. He was Born May 18 th 1944 in St. Charles IL to William and Virginia Melson (Nee Whelchel) Gene grew up in the St. Charles area. He was well known for his love of animals and as the fun Uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Any of their plain shirts would become a canvas for his whimsical art. After his retirement from janitorial work he lived in Wisconsin and moved to Missouri by his sister Trina. Then his kids convinced him to move closer and he spent his remaining time in St.Charles near his kids, grandkids and great-grandchild.Gene is survived by his children, Erik Melson, Andrea Tran, His Grandchildren, Ravyn Wheeler, Phoenix Wheeler, Harley Debenedetti, Badger Tran, Wren Tran, His Great-grandchild Athena Tegtmeier Wheeler, His Siblings, Bruce Melson, Trina Dougherty and Billie(Dave) Lopez, and many beloved nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Jackie Ballew. A Memorial gathering will be held at a later date interment will be private.
