Helen M. Lafferty

Helen M. Lafferty, 90, of Batavia passed away Monday, June 1, 2020 at Michaelsen Health Care Center.  Helen was born November 8, 1929 in Clay County KY the daughter of Abijah and Flora (Hacker) Asher.  She was united in marriage to John Samuel Lafferty April 17, 1949 in Goodfield, IL. 

Helen had a passion and love for family.  She dedicated her life and served as an advocate in the support and wellbeing of her husband and children.  Helen and her family have been longtime members of several United Methodist Church’s; her last membership was at the United Methodist Church of Geneva.    

She is survived by her three children,  Teresa Lafferty, David Lafferty and Michael (Al Diaz) Lafferty; and a granddaughter Lesley (Taylor) Smith. 

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her Samuel Lafferty; and her siblings, Geraldine Asher, Lula Sachse, Fred Asher, Charles Asher, Laura Devos, Virginia Meuer and Donna Hoover. 

A memorial service will be held privately.
