James Richard Ankrom

James “Jim” Richard Ankrom, 82, of North Aurora, IL passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at his home.  He was born March 1, 1940, in St. Paul MN the son of John and Doris (Seixas) Ankrom.  Jim was united in marriage to Berdonna Stritzel September 3, 1977, in Roselle, IL

Jim had an amazing connection with all people, but he had a particular love to helping anyone with special needs.  Following retirement Jim served as a bus driver for people with special needs he possessed a natural ability to connect and become a friend in need.  He had a love for spending time on his farm in Hatley, Wisconsin where he would spend countless hours fishing. Jim also adored all of God’s creations but held a special place for all dogs. 

He is survived by his wife Berdonna; six children, David Julseth, Karen (David) Sunde, Deborah (David) Thorgesen, Steven (Erin) Julseth, Thomas (Jennifer) Julseth, and Randall Julseth; fourteen grandchildren, Scott (Jessica) Langford, Sean Langford, Amelia Thorgesen, Brianna Thorgesen, Megan Julseth, Matthew Julseth, Alicia Julseth, Tylor Julseth, Ryan Julseth, Sarah Julseth, Emma Julseth, Dave Sunde, Alen Sunde, and Ricky Sunde; two great-grandchildren, and his siblings, John (Kathy) Ankrom, and Patricia (Terry) Falk;

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amber Sunde; a sister Diana Lynn Patrin. 

Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL. 

Funeral services will begin with prayers, 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Moss Family Funeral Home, before proceeding to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 801 Oak Street North Aurora, IL to celebrate Mass at 10:30 A.M.  Interment will follow the funeral Mass at St. Gall Cemetery in Elburn, IL.
