James Zoccoli
September 23, 1947 - February 10, 2022 James “Jim” Zoccoli, 74, of Batavia passed away Thursday,February 10, 2022, at Heritage Health in Elgin. He was born September 23, 1947, in Chicago, IL the son of Rocco and Josephine (Minervini) Zoccoli. He was united in marriage to Loretta Fiaccato. He is survived by his wife Loretta; his son James A. Zoccoli of Chicago; his son Rocco (Theresa) Zoccoli of St. Charles and his daughter Nicole Zoccoli (Brandon Blindt) of Elburn. He was blessed to have four grandsons Rocco, Joseph, Luca and Gage. They will always remember their Papa having a pocket full of bubble gum when he visited. Jim was the oldest of three siblings, Mary Ann (Terry) Wojan, and Thomas (Lisa) Zoccoli. Tom, the youngest sibling, is who he was closest with and spent the most time with. He is preceded in death by his parents Rocco and Josephine and his sister Mary Ann. Jim proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked most of his life as a truck driver for Midwest Jobbers inc. of St Charles. In his younger years he enjoyed being a part of softball teams. He spent many summer days working on his tomato plant garden. He loved being outdoors and despised winter. He enjoyed poker games with his brother, afternoons at the slot machines of Hollywood Casino and watching The Sopranos on repeat. One of his happiest days was the day the Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Jim was known for his larger-than-life personality. He was full of stories and jokes and definitely had a way of making everyone laugh. In honoring of Jim’s wishes there will not be any funeral or visitation, cremation rites were accorded by the Moss Family Funeral Home, Batavia, IL. |
