Jeanette Margaret McGrail

Jeanette Margaret (nee O’Brien) McGrail, age 86, of Geneva, IL (formerly of St. Charles and Evergreen Park, IL) passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 27, 2022.

She was born July 20, 1935 in Chicago, the daughter of Richard and Jeanette (nee Keith) O’Brien.  She was united in marriage to Patrick McGrail on June 5, 1954, in Chicago.

Jeanette met Pat at Sailors Restaurant where she worked and made him the best strawberry shake he ever had.  They married and started their life out in Hometown, IL, spent 14 years in Evergreen Park, IL before moving to St. Charles, IL.  Jeanette reentered the workforce when her youngest was 12 in 1977.  She and Pat later joined forces to start their own company, Patrick Manufacturing, in 1984.  They worked side by side for 26 years until his passing in 2010.  She loved to work and continued at Patrick for another 10 years.  Jeanette was a fighter and beat cancer 3 times.

She is survived by her four daughters Susan McGrail, Kathie (James) Griffith. Judith (the late William) Lang, and Pattie Lane.  Her grandchildren, Stephanie, Daniel, Patrick, Sam, Kimberly, Maggie, Emma, and Olivia and great grandchildren Liam, Ethan, Elin, Alex and Will. Her sister Helen (Roy) Plush and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Jeanette and her daughters want to send a special thank you Elaine who was a touchstone for her in helping her feel welcome and enjoy her new home at Greenfields.

Interment will be private.
