Joan Frances Moxey

Joan F. Moxey, 87, of Waukegan, Illinois passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in her home on March 13, 2022. In Heaven she reunited with her late husband, LeRoy Moxey.

She was born April 15, 1934, in Chicago, IL. During Joan’s lifetime she worked at Illinois Bell, Abbott Laboratories, and Midwest Bank. Her greatest work was raising her 5 children. Joan’s passions in life were spending time with family and friends, traveling, and reading novels. For the past 18 years Joan shared a home in Batavia, Illinois with her daughter Jenny (Brian) Prodoehl and grandchildren Maddie, Myles, and Caroline.

Joan was the loving mother of 5 children Cheryl (Rob) Palenik, Steven Cierocke (Debbie), Matt Moxey (Mary), Jenny Prodoehl (Brian), and Tina (John) Blair. She was the loving grandmother of Chrystie, Jeremy, Courtney, Carrie, Jamie, Destiny, Raeanne, Michaela, Steven, Adrian, Madelyn, Myles, and Caroline. She leaves behind a brother, Peter Coolsen and a sister Beverly Wiloff. She was a beloved aunt and great grandmother to numerous individuals. She is preceded in death by siblings Phyllis, Raymond Jr., and Gerald (Jerry) and parents Raymond and Evelyn Coolsen and stepfather Michael Pasterski. Joan also leaves behind Dublin, a beloved family dog.

Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Avenue Batavia, IL.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 18, 2022, at Holy Cross Catholic Church 2300 Main Street Batavia, IL. A private interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Crystal Falls, Michigan.
