John Anthony Heinen
October 9, 1933 - February 13, 2022 John Anthony Heinen, 88, of North Aurora, Il. died peacefully on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Bickford of St. Charles, in St. Charles, IL. John was born on October 9, 1933, in Humphrey, NE., the son of Anton and Josephine (nee. Wemhoff) Heinen. He attended and graduated from St. Francis High School in Humphrey. On June 5, 1954, John and Marlene H. Zimmerman were united in marriage in Ft. Anniston, AL. He entered military service with the U. S. Army from Jan 25, 1954, until Dec. 25, 1956. Upon completion of his active duty he and Marlene found their way to the Chicago area, eventually ending up in North Aurora. Once established in the area he went to work as an iron worker and was a proud member of Iron Workers Local 393. He became active in the North Aurora Lions, the Knights of Columbus and Blessed Sacrament Church. He loved to bowl and play cards with friends and family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be missed by all. John is survived by his loving wife Marlene H. Heinen; his five children, Susan (James) Long, Cynthia (Steven) Krause, Randy Heinen, Daniel (Melissa) Heinen and Russell (Elaine) Heinen; twelve grandchildren, Amanda, Kristen, Timothy, Avea, Alex, Laura, Tyler, Joshua, Maddie, Neal, Trevor and Tristen, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents; his daughter, Catherine Birdsall; his son, Timothy Heinen; his eleven siblings, Norbert, Beata, Arthur, Edger, Aeldred, Mary Ann, Clara, Rita, Joanne, Theodore, and Bernadette. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 801 Oak St., North Aurora, Il. 60542. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M. also at the church. Interment will be at Annunciation Catholic Cemetery in Aurora, Il. Memorial donation in John’s name may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. |
