Joseph I. Musser

Joseph I. Musser May 13, 1944 - June 24, 2021

Joseph Musser, 77, of Batavia, IL., passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.  Joseph was born on May 13, 1944, the son of Cecil and Mildred. He was united in marriage to Judy Joyce Raddatz on September 27, 1969, in Elgin, IL.

Joe served in the Navy, doing two tours on an aircraft carrier and even volunteered to winter over for 9 months in Antarctica. A lot of life, laughs and stories happened between his service and his retirement as superintendent of the waste water treatment plant in the City of Batavia.
Joe was part of the Moose Lodge, VFW and a Mason. He truly enjoyed several years of being a member and trustee of the Batavia United Methodist Church, who was always greeting you with a smile.
While Joe did enjoy hunting, one of the many things he shared with so many people was his love of fishing. He might have bought you your first fishing pole or taken you up to Pelican Lake to experience all the wonders of fishing but without a doubt he always had a big fish story.   He would say his calling in life was telling stories and making people laugh, smile and have a good time. He succeeded.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Judy Musser; his children, Joshua (Lori Fichtel) Musser and Sarah (Keith L) Musser; his granddaughter, Zoe Panek.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Joyce Zuehl

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday June 28, 2021, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL. 60510.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Batavia United Methodist Church, 8 N Batavia Ave, Batavia, IL 60510.  Interment will be at Kaneville Cemetery in Kaneville, IL.  Memorial donations in Joseph’s name may be made to Batavia United Methodist Church or Wayside Cross Mission of Aurora.
