Joyce Ann Stran

Joyce Stran, 92, of Geneva, IL, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022, at Greenfields of Geneva. Joyce was born March 18, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Ben and Grace Tharrington. She was united in marriage to Carl “Ken” Stran November 30, 1951, in Geneva, IL. Joyce was a people person she enjoyed spending time with her family, her grandchildren and she especially love to visit with her many adored friends. Joyce and her Ken were world travelers, who visited many countries around the world with their friends the “Rinky-Dinks”. She is survived by her devoted son, Tim (Kelli) Stran, her son-in-law, Don Schultze and her daughter-in-law Beth Stran; her six grandchildren, Emily (John) Crossman, Charley (Talia) Stran, Kourtney (Scott) Bodnar, Kayla (Drew) Kuhn, Michelle (David) Kovacs, and Jeremy (Erin) Schultze, her eleven great grandchildren, and her sister Elaine (Tom) Martin, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Ken Stran in 2018; her beloved daughter, Sue Schulze, her loving son Jeff Stran and brother Jim Tharrington. A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 8 S. Lincoln St., Batavia, IL 60510. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 P.M. also at the church. Interment will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, October 1, 2022, at River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia, IL prior to the church service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joyce’s name may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church in celebration of their 150th anniversary.
