Julie Ann Petsinger

Julie Ann Petsinger, 59, passed away on August 1, 2020 surrounded by her family in Barrington. Julie was born on May 2, 1961 to Paul Joseph and Ruth Ann (nee Matle) Cord in Alexandria, VA. She was married to the love of her life, Jeffrey Michael Petsinger, on October 28, 1990 at St. Walters Catholic Church in Roselle, IL.

Julie wanted nothing more than to be a good mother to her children.  Her strong Catholic faith inspired her to dedicate her time and efforts to homeschool her children with a Catholic curricula.  Julie and her husband Jeff met in a class at the Newman Center at Northern Illinois University in their senior year and dated off and on.  Fate kept bringing them together until they finally married in 1990.  Julie worked at United Airlines after graduating college, which allowed Julie and Jeff to travel extensively before having children.  Julie displayed the patience of a saint by moving into an unfinished house in Wayne after her honeymoon.  Julie is acknowledged by her siblings as the “glue” of the family, a peacemaker, and her Father’s undisputed “favorite”.  A story of 4-year old Julie always sharing all of her chocolate bar except for one small piece perfectly captures Julie’s intrinsic generous and loving nature.

She leaves behind her husband Jeff; her three children, Sarah, Joseph, and Rachel; her father, Paul Cord, Sr.;  her siblings, Paul (Sandy) Cord,  Jr., Mary Cord, Jack Cord, Jill Cord, and Jennifer (Jeff)  Provisor, and nephews; Daniel (Sheila) Cord and David (Marina) Cord.

Visitation will be held at Moss Family Funeral Home St. Charles 100 South 3^rd Street St. Charles on August 5, 2020 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on August 6, 2020 at St Patrick Catholic Church 6N491 Crane Road St. Charles at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Bluff City Cemetery in Elgin.
