Leslie Ann DeBaun

Leslie Ann DeBaun, 73, of North Aurora passed away Monday, September 12, 2022, at her home. Born January 14, 1949, in Chicago, IL the daughter of Richard and Marilyn (Stenberg) Smith.  She was united in marriage to Charles John DeBaun July 4, 1970, in Hinsdale, IL.

Leslie was a strong independent woman fulfilling life on her own terms. She deeply loved her family and friends and enjoyed being free with nature.  She enjoyed gardening and animals, especially her beloved dogs, Monty and Kylie. Leslie had a love for horses that she shared with her granddaughter Isabella. Being a gifted artist loved to create quilts, pottery and anything that challenged her ability--- including raising her three boys. All and all, Leslie loved life and wasn’t afraid to venture off on a Woman’s only camping trip and exploring unchartered territory with her family and dogs. She loved playing with her grandchildren and sharing her love of nature with everyone she knew.

She is survived by her children, Raymond (Tricia) DeBaun, John DeBaun, and Michael (Melissa) DeBaun; five grandchildren, Thomas Carlson, Grant DeBaun, Isabella DeBaun, Ethan DeBaun and Mason DeBaun; her siblings, Jeanne (Otto) Stack, Randal Rinehart, Roberta (Rinehart) McCormick, Stephen (Karen) Smith, Richard (Barbara) Smith and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles John DeBaun and her adored grandparents, Walter and Edna Stenberg.

Visitation will be held 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL.  A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M.
