Marian Elizabeth Piché December 4, 1925 - October 29, 2021

Piché, Marian Elizabeth, 95, passed away on October 29, 2021, at Michealsen Health Center in Batavia, Illinois. She was born on December 4, 1925, in Monroe, Wisconsin, daughter of Francis and Elizabeth (Tucker) Fitzgibbons, preceded in death by dear husband of 67 years, Kenneth Piché, her parents and brothers, Francis, Robert and David Fitzgibbons. In addition, Marian was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester DeWoody Powis.

Marian is survived by daughter, Cheryl (John) McGuirk, of Broomfield, Colorado, daughter Suzanne (Tom) Larry, of Leesburg, Virginia, David (Ewa) Piché, of Chicago, Il, and Kathleen Piché of Burbank, California.

Marian has seven grandchildren, Brian (Becky) McGuirk of Longmont, Colorado, Michael (Kathryn) McGuirk of Boulder, Co, Caitlin McGuirk of Denver, Colorado, Eva (Andy) White of Solvang, CA, Elizabeth Sanchez of Los Angeles, CA, Joe Larry of Washington, D.C., and Dan (Olivia) Larry of Leesburg, VA; and six great grandchildren: Jack, Townes, Quinn, Myles, Dylan, and Hayes.

Marian was a devout Catholic and longstanding active member of Sacred Heart Parish in Lombard. She attended Eastern Illinois University, earning a B.A. in Art and Education, and received a Masters degree in Learning Disabilities from Northern Illinois University. Marian taught elementary school for 24 years in Long Grove, Addison and St. Charles. She also owned and operated a pre-school in Lombard. She enjoyed a successful second career as a Real Estate agent with Coldwell Banker and ReMax, retiring at the age of 75. 

Born and raised on a farm in Central Illinois, Marian never lost her love of the land, helping her mother to raise crops as a child and gardening as an adult. She also loved birds. Marian had strong opinions on many subjects and shared them freely. She was always at her happiest when spending time with her children and extended family.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 am, followed by a prayer service on Monday, November 8th, 2021, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Avenue, Batavia, IL. Burial will follow, at 1:30 pm at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. 

Donations in her name may be made to Covenant Care Hospice in St. Charles, IL.
