Marie Katherine Pedersen

July 6, 1944 - July 22, 2021

Marie Katherine Pedersen, 77, of Batavia, IL peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at River Glen of St. Charles with her daughter by her side.

Marie was born on July 6, 1944, the daughter of John and Mae (nee Marrongelli) Figueiredo, in Philadelphia, PA. She was united in marriage to Robert C. Pedersen on July 3, 1965 at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Upper Darby, PA.

Marie is survived by her loving daughter, Barbara Lynn Pedersen, her sister, Teresa McLaughlin, her niece, Melissa Silvers, and her three nephews, Joseph, Jeffrey and Steven Hohl.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved, Bob, her husband of 45 years.

Marie was proud to have taught in Catholic schools for over 25 years including St. Louis School in Yeadon, PA and St. Laurence School in Upper Darby, PA. When not working on costumes for local theatrical productions, Marie had a passion for cooking and always enjoyed entertaining family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL 60510.

A second visitation and a Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082 with interment to immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA.

The Pedersen Family would like to thank the nurses and staff at River Glen of St. Charles for their compassion, support and many kindnesses to Marie and Barbara.
