Mary Palasz
November 8, 1947 - August 12, 2020 Mary Palasz passed away on August 12, 2020. Devoted and proud mother to Mark, John (Camille), Laura (Scott Werner), and Christopher (Jin Lai). Loving “Grandma” to Joshua, Eloise, Julie, Alexandra, Leah, and Isabelle. Warmhearted sister to late Mike, Tom, late Rita, late Carolyn, Joe, Vicky, late John, Helen, Steve, and Bob. Dear Aunt to many nieces and nephews, and well loved by numerous cousins and devoted friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph, and Caroline. Mary grew up in Milwaukee and moved to Illinois about 50 years ago. Mary was a teacher in East Aurora, where she eventually became a reading specialist after proudly earning her Master’s Degree from Aurora University in 2004. She was a devoted parishioner at Holy Cross Church in Batavia. When she retired, Mary was part of various Bible study groups as well as the funeral choir. Every fall as soon as the football season started Mary enjoyed watching every Chicago Bears game, cheering for her dear Bears, and wearing Bears gear. Mary will be remembered by many for her frequent and warm smile, her cheerful singing and her kindness to others especially children. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, in the Donovan Hall, 2300 Main Street, Batavia, IL 60510. Interment will follow in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery 37w210 Fabyan Pkwy, Geneva, IL 60134. Due to Covid-19, the family requests that all attendees wear a face covering and maintain social distancing while attending the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St Vincent de Paul or to the American Cancer Society are appreciated. |
