Matthew R. Marzuki “Butch”, 75, of Hinckley, IL passed away peacefully Monday December 20, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was born February 28, 1946 the son of Matthew Marzuki and Evelyn (Greenman) Bremer in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He met Paula in November of 1970 and they married in November 1975 in St. Charles, IL. Matt owned and operated The Welcome Matt in Hinckley for 30 years. He enjoyed giving back to the community. He served as the President of the Shabbona Lake Sportsman’s Club, on the board at the Indian Oaks Country Club. He was a founding member and Past President of the Hinckley Business Association, there he worked tirelessly to establish the Hinckley Fourth of July Fireworks display, going door to door to raise the funds. The patrons of The Welcome Matt would know him as a social butterfly. He looked forward to the monthly karaoke night where at Midnight he would get on top of the bar, sing the Lido Shuffle and buy the house a round. He also shared a love of music from an early age, playing drums in a few bands. The longest being with The Second Time Around, playing old time rock and roll for many clubs, events and benefits. Matt is survived by his wife of 46 years Paula (Morris), his daughters Sherry (Mark) Romano of Garland, Texas, Angela Marzuki of St. Charles, IL. His sisters Donna Schlitz of Montgomery, IL, Sandra Hershey of Batavia, IL and his brother Gary Marzuki of Batavia, IL, his sister in law Barbara Morris of Shorewood, IL and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by father Matthew, His Mother and stepfather Evelyn (Melvin) his brothers Patrick Tate Sr and David Marzuki and brother’s in law Randall Morris and DeWayne Hershey.
