Nicholas Gallo
November 27, 1933 - May 5, 2022 Nicholas Gallo, 88, of Batavia and formerly of South Holland died Thursday, May 5, 2022. He was born November 27, 1933, in Chicago the son of Nicholas and Pearl C. (Episcopo) Gallo. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Patricia Foley October 4, 1958. Nicholas lived for his family, faith, and friends. He was an extremely dedicated father and grandfather and embraced any opportunity to spend time with his family. Nicholas also loved sports, he was a lifelong Sox fan. He played football for St. Ignatius High School and Marquette University. His love of sports mixed with his passion to serve led him to volunteer as a coach for St. Jude grade school for 17 years. Before starting his career Nicholas proudly served in the United States Army. He then became a Civil Engineer for the Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago until 1997 when he retired. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Margaret (Christopher) Kyriakos, and Annemarie (Philip) Barnes; four grandchildren, Philip (Madison), Nicholas, Elizabeth, and John Barnes; a great-granddaughter, Elisabeth; a brother Robert (Margot) Gallo, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Julianne Gallo, and a sister Mary (Clarence) Moore. Visitation will be held 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Moss Family Funeral Home, Batavia, IL. Following the visitation, a funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 A.M. Thursday at Annunciation Catholic Church 1820 Church Road Aurora, IL. Interment will follow in Marywood Cemetery, Aurora.
