Phyllis Hartman

Phyllis A. Hartman, 96, a longtime resident of Batavia passed away January 17, 2022, at Bria of Geneva. She was born March 27, 1925, in Odon, IN the daughter of Frank and Jenny (Nelson) Ingalls. She was united in marriage to Francis William “Bill” Hartman May 10, 1946, in Tipton, IN. Phyllis graduated from Tipton High School in Indiana, the class of 1943. As a devote Christian she pursued her college degree from Moody Bible Institute graduating in 1946. She began her career at the First National Bank in Batavia which later became Harris Bank where she enjoyed working for many years as the assistant cashier. Phyllis was a longtime member of the Former First Baptist Church in Batavia. She is survived by her daughters, Cyndee Patzer, of St. Charles, IL, Beth (John) Hastings of Moraga, CA and Terrie (Brent) Huggins of Batavia, two daughters-in-law, Betsy Hartman and Hannah Hartman and several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Bill” Hartman, Sr.; two sons Francis “Bill” Hartman, Jr. and Dwight Hartman and a son-in-law Bruce Patzer; and many siblings. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic a private visitation will be held. The public is welcome to come and participate in the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 24, 2022, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL. Interment will follow in West Batavia Cemetery in Batavia. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice. The funeral service will be available to view real time via Zoom.
